Message in a bottle

... blog  dedicato a Maria, la Theotokos, Stella del Mare

 e faro luminoso nelle foschie dell'anima. 

"Nel cielo apparve poi un segno grandioso: una donna vestita di sole, con la luna sotto i suoi piedi e sul suo capo una corona di dodici stelle. Essa partorì un figlio maschio destinato a governare tutte le nazioni con scettro di ferro, e il figlio fu subito rapito presso Dio e verso il suo trono" (Ap 12, 1.5)

GUARDA LA STELLA

O tu che, nelle vicissitudini, più che di camminare per terra hai l'impressione di essere sballottato tra tempeste e uragani, se non vuoi finire travolto dall'infuriare dei flutti, non distogliere lo sguardo dal chiarore di questa stella! Se insorgono i venti delle tentazioni, se ti imbatti negli scogli delle tribolazioni, guarda la stella invoca Maria. Se vieni travolto dalle onde della superbia, dell'ambizione, della mormorazione, dell'invidia e della gelosia: guarda la stella, invoca Maria. Se l'ira, l'avarizia, la concupiscenza scuotono la navicella della tua anima: guarda Maria. Se, turbato dalla gravità dei tuoi peccati, confuso per le brutture della tua coscienza, atterrito dal rigore del giudizio, stai per venire risucchiato dalla tristezza e dall'abisso della disperazione, pensa a Maria. Nei pericoli, nelle difficoltà e nei momenti di incertezza: pensa a Maria, invoca Maria. Abbila sempre sulla bocca, abbila sempre nel cuore, e se vuoi ottenere l'aiuto della sua preghiera non tralasciare di imitarne gli esempi. Seguendo Lei non andrai fuori strada, pregandola non dispererai, pensando a Lei non sbaglierai. Se Ella ti sostiene non cadrai, se Ella ti protegge non avrai nulla da temere, se Ella ti guida non ti affaticherai, se ti sarà favorevole giungerai alla meta e così potrai sperimentare tu stesso quanto giustamente sia stato detto: «e il nome della Vergine era Maria».

Look at the Star 

O, you who are cast about in the floods and storms of this world, do not turn your eyes from the splendor of this star, unless you would be overwhelmed. If the winds of temptation surge about and you are cast upon the rocks of trial and testing, look to the star, call upon Mary. If you are thrown down by the waves of pride, ambition, slander, jealousy; look to the star, call upon Mary.If anger, greed, or the lure of the flesh pound against the ship of your heart, look to Mary. If the vastness of your sin disheartens you, if your guilt confuses you and shames you, if you stand in terror of the judgement, if you tremble on the brink of a sadness that threatened to consume you, on the edge of despair, think of Mary.In danger, in suffering, in doubt, think of Mary, call upon Mary. Let her not be absent from your speaking, let her not be absent from your heart. And that you might gain the help of her prayers, keep the example of her prayer ever in mind.Following her, you will not lose your way.Calling on her, you will not give up hope.Thinking of her, you will not go wrong.With her to uphold you, you will not fail.With her to protect you, you will not be afraid.With her to lead you, you will not grow weary.With her to plead your cause, you will arrive safe.And so you will experience for yourself how rightly it is said:"And the virgin's name was Mary."
