This documentary, created by Chinmaya Dunster to raise awareness for India’s environmental issues, evokes feelings of reverence for the wonders of India’s nature. It is also a tribute to the people who have lived alongside these wonders and have preserved so much of them over countless generations.

Festival del Gnaoua

In Marocco si tengono festival tradizionali e culturali che attraggono marocchini e turisti; alcuni sono molto antichi, altri sono più moderni, ma tutti sono da non perdere.

- Festival della fioritura dei mandorli ( febbraio)

Celebra l’inizio della stagione della fioritura primaverile e si tiene nella valle di Ameln vicino a Tafraoute.

- Marathon des Sables (marzo/ aprile)

Una corsa a piedi di 7 giorni attraverso il deserto che parte e arriva a Ouarzazate.

- Festival delle rose ( maggio)

Festeggiamenti per la raccolta delle rose nella valle di El-Keela M’ Gouna vicino a Ouarzazate.

- Festival della musica sacra mondiale ( maggio/giugno/luglio)

Manifestazione di 9 giorni che ha luogo a Fès, attira visitatori anche da altri paesi.

- Festival delle ciliegie ( giugno)

Tenuto a Sefrou, questo festival dura 3 giorni e offre musica e danza in quantità, culminando con l’incoronazione della regina delle ciliegie.

- Festival del folklore nazionale ( giugno)

Una manifestazione che celebra la musica e la danza berbere e si tiene a Marrakech.

- Festival del Gnaoua e delle world music (giugno)

Per questa manifestazione, considerata da molti il festival più popolare del Marocco, migliaia di visitatori confluiscono nella cittadina portuale di Essaouira. Nel 2004 si sono esibiti i Wailers( quelli di Bob Marley and the Wairles), attirando un numero record di turisti da tutto il mondo.

- Festival internazionale di Rabat (giugno/ luglio)

Musicisti da tutta l’Africa convergono nella capitale per questa manifestazione, che fa anche da sfondo a un piccolo festival cinematografico.

- Festival internazionale della cultura (luglio/ agosto)

Aslah, una cittadina portuale, è la sede di questo festival artistico che celebra sia l’arte contemporanea sia l’arte marocchina tradizionale e che è particolarmente adatto per le famiglie.

- Festival del matrimonio ( settembre)

Un festival di 3 giorni che si tiene a Imilchil e che negli ultimi anni è stato molto sfruttato dall’ufficio nazionale marocchino per il turismo. Durante il festival le ragazze berbere scelgono i futuri mariti e firmano contratti di fidanzamento.

- Festival cinematografico internazionale (date variabili) 

Manifestazione cinematografica, che attira molti attori, registi e cineasti; si svolge a Marrakech e sta diventando un evento d’elite. Dura una settimana e presenta film di varia provenienza, ma in particolare pellicole arabe e africane.
